Martin Messent

Orphan Song features Mike Simmonds on violin and Mark Treffel on Rhodes electric piano. It uses part of a traditional song, This World is not My Home, in the choruses; the version quoted in James Agee & Walker Evans' 'Let Us Now Praise Famous Men'. It's on the new album, Orphan Songs.

I was reviewing recordings I'd done with Ian Price after his untimely death in August 2014; I Pray Your Liver was always a favourite. Together with Law of Civilisation and What The Seagull Feels, it's on Try To Begin, available from iTunes as a digital download. Adagietto for four cellos was performed at Brighton Festival Fringe 2012 by the Montpellier Cello Quartet.

Angel and Love Is The Way are from Angels and Jackals. Bye Bye Blackbird, Things To Say and Stop Now all appear on the Mab album Saw The Sun. Volcano, Tree From a Chimney Top and Mephisto are from Blues For Plankton. Love Me Tonight and Laughing Song are from 2004 EP Bye Bye Blackbird.
