Martin Messent is a writer, singer songwriter and photographer. He has released five albums and an EP.

His writing has appeared in a range of publications, including Waterlog, Pulp Faction, Orbis and Ramraid Extraordinaire. He has exhibited at Brighton Photo Fringe. His blog, Trout Bum Replica, collects essays, reviews, psychogeographical explorations and autobiography.

He’s appeared at Bestival and Glastonbury; The Greys, Brighton; 12 Bar Club and The Green Note, London, among numerous dates at UK acoustic venues. His new album, Orphan Songs, is out now.

He plays live as a duo with Mike Simmonds (Alice Russell, Bonobo) on violin and mandolin.
